Well, sadly we have made an appointment for Harriet’s escort to the Rainbow Bridge for tomorrow afternoon. A hospice vet will come to our home and we will do it outside in the yard that Harriet has spent so much time in (on laps or in a carriage; she was always an indoor only kitty). Here she is just a few minutes ago, licking her catnip fishy in her carriage in the yard.

A love for the ages!

Here are Harriet and Abbie, one of our small terriers.  Those of you who read my other posts in the forums know that Abbie recently snuck into Harriet’s recovery pen and ate out of her litter box…resulting in an ER visit and induced-vomiting.  Abbie had a full 3 tablespoons of clumping litter in her gut, so we are lucky we got her there before it got too far through her system.

Abbie is Harriet’s #1 fan, and shows her love for Harriet in more ways than just eating her litter (ugh!). She loves to snuggle up at any opportunity. Harriet usually tolerates Abbie but is less than thrilled about her. Here, we catch Harriet actually snuggling in with Abbie (and yes, apparently Abbie has borrowed one of Harriet’s recovery onesies. Isn’t borrowing clothes another sign of devotion)?

THE GRANDE DAME is brought to you by Tripawds.
