Here are Harriet and Abbie, one of our small terriers. Those of you who read my other posts in the forums know that Abbie recently snuck into Harriet’s recovery pen and ate out of her litter box…resulting in an ER visit and induced-vomiting. Abbie had a full 3 tablespoons of clumping litter in her gut, so we are lucky we got her there before it got too far through her system.
Abbie is Harriet’s #1 fan, and shows her love for Harriet in more ways than just eating her litter (ugh!). She loves to snuggle up at any opportunity. Harriet usually tolerates Abbie but is less than thrilled about her. Here, we catch Harriet actually snuggling in with Abbie (and yes, apparently Abbie has borrowed one of Harriet’s recovery onesies. Isn’t borrowing clothes another sign of devotion)?

Awww they are the best little sibling pair EVER! How sweet.
I had no idea that cat litter in a dog’s belly could be so dangerous. THANK YOU for that information. I know that many dogs like Kitty Roca and didn’t realize that cat litter ingestion could cause an expensive visit to the vet. I’m so glad Abbie didn’t need surgery!
That’s right about borrowing clothes. I’ll try to remember that line next time I swipe something of my sister’s!
